The businesses that move now will be the ones customers find first. The ones that wait won't get a second chance to lead.
You've built something real through hard work. Ascentis helps small business owners across Calgary and Southern Alberta bridge the gap between AI and the humans who actually run the business — face to face when possible, without wasting money, and without ever losing the human touch.

Every week there's a new tool, a new platform, a new thing your competitors might be using. The pace is relentless and the research never ends.
You've heard the horror stories — businesses that spent thousands on tech that nobody used. You don't want to be that story.
People increasingly ask ChatGPT and Google's AI for recommendations instead of scrolling. The old way of posting on social media doesn't get you found anymore. If AI doesn't know your business exists, neither do a growing share of your customers.
You can feel the gap widening. Businesses that were behind you are now showing up first online, closing leads faster, and running leaner than you. It keeps you up at night.
"You built this business through hard work and grit. You shouldn't lose ground just because you don't speak tech."
I'm Jeff Conrad, the founder of Ascentis. My degree is in leadership development, where I specialized in company revitalization — studying why businesses lose their way and what brings them back. I've been working with AI since the day ChatGPT launched, and I believe this shift is at least as big as the dot-com era. Most consultants sell you the technology. I sit on your side of the table and make sure it actually serves your people.
"The only thing constant in business is change. The businesses that thrive don't fear it — they embrace it. My job is to make sure you're one of them."
Jeff Conrad · Founder, Ascentis · Airdrie, Alberta
AI should never be the thing that replaces humans.
It should be the thing that helps humans become the best version of themselves.
Change is the only guarantee in business. Kodak had the first digital camera and chose comfort over courage — and it cost them everything. AI is this generation's version of that fork in the road.
But here's what people get wrong: they think AI replaces people. It doesn't. People aren't horses, and horses weren't replaced by cars because cars were better at being horses — they were replaced because something better came along to handle the boring parts so humans could focus on what mattered. AI works the same way. It clears the monotonous, repetitive work off your plate so you have more time — not less — to do the one thing AI can never do: take care of your people and your customers.
In a world that's getting more isolated and automated by the day, real human connection is becoming rare — and rare things become valuable. Our job is to make sure AI buys you back the time and energy to be more human, not less.
No jargon. No fluff. Just a clear path from where you are to where you want to be.

A realtor with 25 years in the Airdrie market came to me knowing AI was changing his industry — he just didn't know how to embrace it. We rebuilt his online presence with AI-informed insights, restructured his content for how people actually search now, and adapted his social media for an era where customers ask AI for recommendations. Today, we're working toward page-one visibility for the most common Airdrie realtor searches, and we track his progress every month. We'll share the numbers here as they come in.

Yes — in fact, that's exactly who this is for. You don't need to understand AI to benefit from it. My job is to translate the technology into plain language and handle the complexity so you don't have to.
ChatGPT is a tool — it doesn't know your business, your team, or your customers. I do that work. My job is to sit between the technology and the human side of your business: figuring out what actually fits how you operate, training your team so they trust it instead of fearing it, and making sure the AI serves your people instead of replacing the judgment you've built over years. The tools are easy to find. Making them actually work inside a real business with real people — that's the part most people skip, and it's the part that determines whether any of this sticks.
It depends on what your business needs — which is exactly why we start with a free strategy call instead of a generic price list. You'll know your options and the investment before you commit to anything.
Good — you shouldn't have to. The point of this work is to give you back time, not take more of it. Implementation is designed around your existing workflow, not the other way around.
This is actually where my background matters most. My training is in leadership development, not just technology — I help you bring your team along, not just install software and walk away.
We start with a conversation, not a contract. If after talking it's clear this isn't the right fit, you'll walk away with clarity either way — that's still worth something.
I look at your website the way a stranger sees it, the way Google sees it, and the way AI search tools see it. You get a clear list of what's costing you leads and what to fix first. Book a call with me to talk it through, or read what a website audit actually includes.
Most analyses are done within a week of our first call, so you're not left waiting for answers.
A written report you can keep, plus a live call where I walk you through what I found and what I'd fix first, in plain language.
Looking fine and bringing in calls are two different things. Many good-looking websites quietly lose leads because of one or two fixable problems nobody has pointed out.
Often just targeted fixes, like clearer messaging, one missing page, or an easier way to contact you. A full rebuild only makes sense when the site is truly broken. Read more in What Is a Website Audit?
I'm based in Airdrie and focus on Calgary and Southern Alberta. Because the work is done online, I also work with small businesses across Canada and North America.

If your website isn't bringing in calls, start with the website analysis. If you're buried in repetitive tasks, start with AI integration. Not sure? See both services or book a call with me.
Not usually. A few focused pages for the services people search for most work better than many thin copies with a new city name. Read more in Your Homepage Is Not a Local Service Page.
No. Google says its Search ignores llms.txt files, and there is no special markup you need to add for AI search. What helps is a clear, useful website with real proof. Read more in AI Search Readiness for Small Businesses.
Maybe, for simple repeated questions like hours, service area and after-hours inquiries. Start with one set of questions, keep a real person easy to reach, and leave complaints and sensitive questions to a human. Read more in AI Chatbots for Small Businesses, or see AI Integration.
If anyone on your team uses AI, yes. It does not need to be long. One plain page can say which tools are approved, what data stays out, and when a person must review the work. Read more in The First AI Policy Your Small Business Actually Needs, or book a call with me.
Start with a 90-day pilot. Pick one workflow, test it with two or three people, measure what changes, then decide whether to expand, pause or stop. Read more in What a 90-Day AI Pilot Looks Like, or see AI Integration.
Not by age. Ask which tasks feel repetitive, train people on the tools they will actually use, and test with real users before a wider rollout. In Statistics Canada data, workers aged 25 to 54 used generative AI the most in high-exposure jobs, so age is a poor guide. Read more in How to Lead a Multigenerational Team Without Treating People Like Stereotypes.
It should not. AI is great for repeat tasks, but it cannot build trust or read a frustrated customer. The best use is freeing your people for the work only people can do. Read more in Don't Be Microsoft, or book a call with me.
